Description
mtanasin (Genova University) will prepare the release 22 tuning of the low-level FTag algorithms devoted to the reconstruction of secondary and tertiary vertices, namely SSVF and JetFitter. He will start from preparing a new training of the InDetTrkInJetType, adopted to classify tracks used as input for SSVF; he will also test the adoption of the same tool In the JetFitter workflow. In the process, he will perform a full validation of the effect of tracking changes in release 22 on the vertexing algorithms, paving the way for future automated benchmarking. This will include data/MC comparisons for the most meaningful input and output variables in the new release. To have a faster turnaround in the monitoring and validation process, Martino will set up simple NN-based algorithms based on SSVF and JetFitter variables, to replace the current SV1 likelihood and JetFitterNN. If time permits, he will explore possible improvements to the JetFitter operation, e.g. optimising the use of neutral particles and improving pile-up robustness. All the developed procedures and corresponding software will be documented and made available in GitLab.
