Qualification Task for Eleonora Loiacono

eloiacon (DESY) will work on improving the connection between Flavour Tagging scale factors measured on data and those corresponding to MC to MC variations.
As a starting point, the smoothing procedure currently adopted for data SFs will be reviewed, including more statistical tests and the study of its interplay with MC to MC SFs and the inclusion of extrapolation uncertainties. This will also require to consolidate and extend the use of newly available NN-based MC efficiency maps in Flavour Tagging prescriptions.
The task will then investigate the option to adopt similar NN-based approach for quoting data SFs, which would allow for a natural treatment of smoothing and MC corrections.
The progress will be reported in the Flavour Tagging Algorithms and Calibrations meetings and the corresponding software will be made available in GitLab and adequately documented.
